The Southeast Headquarters of the China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) was established on November 25, 2025 as a key initiative following the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the CAEG and the Xiamen Municipal People's Government. This new regional headquarters represents a significant step in deepening the CAEG's integration with the southeastern coastal region, advancing cultural and tourism cooperation across the Taiwan Strait, and supporting high-quality development within regional cultural industries.

Core Mission & Strategic Directions:

Resource Coordination & Regional Synergy

The Southeast Headquarters will leverage the distinctive advantages of the southeastern coastal region to forge deep partnerships with local cities across international performing arts, art exhibitions, cultural tourism, theater operations and sports events. By actively connecting with the cultural and tourism resources of Fujian province and Xiamen city — while bridging markets in the Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta — the Headquarters aims to build a cross-regional collaborative development framework that unlocks new opportunities for cultural exchange and economic growth.

Deepening Cross-Strait Cultural Exchange

A core mission of the Southeast Headquarters is to foster cultural connections across the Taiwan Strait. Through diverse approaches, the headquarters will incubate original theatrical productions, develop exquisite cultural products such as the dance drama Master Hongyi, nurture young artistic talents, create cultural and creative products, and advance cultural tourism with performing arts collaborations. These initiatives are designed to continuously deepen cultural integration and mutual understanding between communities on both sides of the strait.

Building a Minnan (southern Fujian province) Culture Dissemination Hub

Rooted in the rich traditions of Minnan culture, and using the Minnan dialect as a vibrant carrier, the Southeast Headquarters will plan and present signature events such as the Minnan Song Festival and Minnan Opera Festival. These events will bring together musicians and artists from across the strait and from overseas Chinese communities worldwide. By harnessing the powerful bonds of shared heritage, the headquarters aims to facilitate cultural reconnection and people-to-people bonds, leverage the important ties of overseas Chinese communities, promote the global dissemination of Minnan culture and enhance the international influence of Chinese culture.

Creating an International Music & Arts Hub

Capitalizing on the unique advantages of central-local government cooperation, the Southeast Headquarters will integrate resources from the Silk Road International League of Theatres and the southeastern coastal region's premium cultural and tourism assets. Together, these resources will enable the staging of international-scale concerts, trendsetting cultural festivals, and other signature events in Fujian. The goal is to establish the region as a premier hub for music and the arts, both for international audiences and for cross-strait cultural exchange, while enhancing the cultural soft power of local cities.
