The Hainan Dongfang Grand Theatre is situated in the Dongfang Cultural Square in Bashi town, Dongfang city, Hainan province, occupying a central location in the urban area. Its design concept draws inspiration from the sunrise in the east and the harmonious coexistence of the sun and moon. The square covers a total planned land area of 170 mu (11.33 hectares), with a gross floor area of approximately 85,700 square meters. Of this area, the grand theatre itself spans about 22,000 square meters and features a professional proscenium stage structure with 1,460 seats.

As one of the most advanced and well-equipped standardized modern theatres in Hainan, it is capable of hosting a wide range of events, including traditional Chinese operas, operas, dance dramas, stage plays, musicals, concerts, live performances, professional art lectures, large-scale conferences, art appreciation events, press conferences, and public benefit activities.
