Curitiba Biennial, Brazil
Initiated in 1993, the Curitiba Biennial is the most influential international art event of its kind of Latin America.
In 2017, the event will stage exhibitions, performances, movies and literary activities in about 100 separate venues around the city, and is anticipated to draw hundreds of thousands of professionals, art fans, and media outlets from around the globe.
Supported by Brazil’s Ministry of Culture, China was designated as the 2017 Curitiba Biennial’s country of honor for the first time in a bid to enhance the two countries’ cultural exchanges.
One of the organizers, CAGE, has chosen about 240 Chinese modern art pieces including paintings, devices, images and photography from 64 artists across the country, making the event a significant window for exhibiting China’s culture and modern arts.
The event will last till Feb 25, 2018.
