On July 13, the "200 Million Years of Earth's Memory - Dinosaur Fossil Special Exhibition" opened at the Meet Museum Beijing 798 Gallery, offering a journey through the cradle of Earth's ancient life for dinosaur enthusiasts.

Under the guidance of China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CAEG), the exhibition is jointly organized by China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation (CAISTC), China Performing Arts Agency (CPAA), and Beijing Zhongchuang Wenhua Tourism Cultural Industry Group. It is presented by a collaborative team of experts from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and an artistic immersive experience curation team.

Featuring the "First Chinese Dragon" Xu's Lufeng Long excavated, researched, and mounted by the Chinese, the top predator Yongchuan Long from the late Jurassic period in Sichuan, the feathered dinosaur He's Near-Bird Dragon, and the Jurassic dinosaur Mamenchisaurus with the longest neck in the world. The exhibition hall spans over 3000 square meters and it showcases over 500 precious paleontological fossils, including more than 300 rare prehistoric organisms. Dozens of newly discovered species are being displayed to the public for the first time. The exhibits span the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras, comprehensively presenting the significant achievements of dinosaur and other paleontological scientific research in China.

The exhibition features over 10 interactive activities, including restoring dinosaur fossils, comparing height with dinosaurs, dinosaur power showdown, touching dinosaur "skin," and more. Dinosaur enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the magnificent prehistoric earth scenes and the fascinating evolution of species. By witnessing the rapid development and great achievements of ancient biological research in China, visitors can enhance their understanding and interest in natural history and scientific exploration.

Wang Meng, Senior Engineer at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that the exhibition pays tribute to the spectacular chapters of earth's history and reminds humanity to cherish the environment and protect ecosystems for better survival.

Xu Xing, Scientific advisor for the exhibition, researcher at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a popular science lecture on "Chinese Dinosaur Fossils" on-site. He said, Chinese dinosaur research has a history of nearly a century, during which over 300 dinosaur species have been named, providing key evidence for the evolution from dinosaurs to birds. Paleontology is a science that "moves from the ancient to the future," and he hopes that everyone can deepen their understanding of Chinese dinosaurs and ignite curiosity for scientific exploration.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until Oct 7. The "Planet Adventure Jurassic" VR immersive experience project to enrich the exhibition experience is set to be introduced on Aug 12.
