An ice-breaking conservation for the 2024 Hong Kong &Macao University Students' Cultural Practice in the Mainland opened in Easyhome Tower of Beijing on June 17.

The cultural practice event was jointly hosted by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Secretariat of the All-China Youth Federation, the Department for Youth Affairs in the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Department for Education and Youth Affairs in the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao SAR, Hong Kong United Youth Association and Macao Foundation.

It was undertaken by the China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) and attended by representatives of the organizing departments and internship institutions as well as university students from Hong Kong.

Subsequently, representatives from 10 internship institutions, which included the Palace Museum and the National Museum of China, gave an introduction to their organizations and talked about achievements made by university students from Hong Kong and Macao in their previous cultural practice events on the Chinese mainland. They expressed sincere expectations and best wishes to those university students from Hong Kong and asked them to proactively take part in relevant activities ahead, cherish this valuable practice opportunity, enhance their professional skills, deepen cultural understanding and expand personal horizon to lay a solid foundation for their future career development.

For their part, attending university students showed their interest and aspiration for internship positions available, and conveyed thanks to the organizing units for their organization of the cultural practice event. They made self-introduction in the humorous language and got familiar with each other in an easy and enjoyable atmosphere.

Meanwhile, those university students exhibited great enthusiasm, engaged in in-depth discussions with the heads of internship institutions, and grasped an understanding their work requirements and cultural background.

Since its establishment in 2005, the Hong Kong &Macao University Students' Cultural Practice has been successfully held for 18 consecutive years and it has become a leading brand for the exchanges between youths from the mainland and two SARs. Till now, it has organized thousands of outstanding university students from Hong Kong and Macao to attend internship and cultural exchange activities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other mainland cities, with the aim of helping them learn more about the country, enlarge personal horizon, and engage in learning.

This year's cultural practice for university students from Hong Kong provided lots internship opportunities, which included exhibition planning &research, publicity &promotion, and activity organization. In addition, they will also be arranged to visit the Palace Museum, Bauhinia Culture Hong Kong &Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Xiong'an New Area and Mei Lanfang Grand Theater to grasp a deep understanding of the Chinese culture, its essence and unique charm.

A closing ceremony of the cultural practice will be held in the end of August to allow them to share with each other about personal experience and feeling of their internship positions and achievements concerned.
