This summer, the Broadway musical "The Sound of Music" will have its international tour debut in Hong Kong at the Grand Theatre of the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District on April 16. It is produced by Broadway International Group and China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd (CAEG).

Celebrating its 65th anniversary, "The Sound of Music" continues to captivate audiences with its timeless songs, even after more than half a century. The story of Sister Maria, who transforms a solemn family with love and wisdom, carries eternal themes that transcend time and space. The dynamics of parent-child relationships, marital bonds, family ties, teacher-student connections, love and being loved, as well as the purest emotions, courage, and strength it conveys, make it a compelling must-see. As the classic tunes of "Do-Re-Mi," "The Lonely Goatherd," and "Edelweiss" resonate throughout the production, audiences are sure to be moved and inspired.

Moreover, the venue for this Hong Kong performance holds unique significance. The West Kowloon Xiqu Centre, hailed as a "new landmark of Hong Kong," is fully prepared to host its first-ever Broadway musical performance. In addition to enjoying "The Sound of Music," audiences can also partake of tea gatherings, visit exhibitions, and appreciate selected Cantonese opera and excerpt performances, showcasing the diverse cultural characteristics of Hong Kong.

Tickets for the musical have gone on sale, with promotional posters visible on buildings, taxis, and in the subway throughout Hong Kong. Flash mob events will also be organized during the performance period.
