On Feb 3, the 2024 "Happy Chinese New Year" launch ceremony and "Happy Chinese New Year - Spring in Macau" concert, organized by China Arts and Entertainment Group Limited (CAEG), were held at the Senado Square in front of the Ruins of St. Paul's in Macau.

Approximately 60 guests from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Macau Special Administrative Region, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macau SAR, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Commissioner's Office in the Macau SAR attended the event.

Before the launch ceremony, astronauts stationed at the Chinese space station held the auspicious dragon symbol of "Happy Chinese New Year" and, via video, extended Lunar New Year greetings from the "Heavenly Palace" to the live audience and the global Chinese community. Subsequently, various distinguished guests jointly illuminated the "Auspicious Dragon" lantern, marking the commencement of the 2024 Chinese New Year activities.

Following the ceremony, the Macau Chinese Orchestra, together with artists from China and abroad, performed classic pieces such as "Spring Festival Overture," "Spring Dance," and "Rhapsody of Macau," bringing the concert to a climax.

The 2024 "Happy Chinese New Year" activities will feature nearly 500 diverse and rich performance projects in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, along with "Global Lantern Lighting Events" in nearly 20 countries. Both events extend a widespread invitation to people around the world to share in the joy of the Chinese festival.
