2024 Malaysia-China Youth Arts Festival kicks off

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, the "Malaysia-China Friendship Night" and the opening ceremony of the 2024 Malaysia-China Youth Arts Festival were held on Jan 28 at the Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall Grand Tower.



Themed around the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the festival aims to deepen the friendship between the youth of both nations and their understanding of each other's cultures through   literary and art performances, exchange activities, and social art practices. During the event, outstanding youth art groups from China and Malaysia performed together, showcasing the cultural arts of both countries.

During the opening ceremony, youth art teams from both countries presented performances including choir singing, dancing, music, and drama, earning rounds of applause and cheers from over 1,000 spectators.

Azman Abidin, the political secretary to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, delivered a speech at the event, expressing that Malaysia-China relations are flourishing, and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations is a historic milestone. He emphasized that cultural exchanges are crucial to bilateral relations, hoping that the youth of both countries will continue to enhance friendship and mutual understanding.

The event was jointly organized by the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Limited (CAEG). The closing ceremony will be held in Malacca, Malaysia on Feb 1.

The opening ceremony was attended by the president of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, Majid, the president of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, Lu Cheng Quan, and the deputy general manager of CAEG, Zheng Xiuquan.
