The Xinjiang Art Theater Mukamu Troupe gathered its 36 cast and crew members to perform in Indonesia from July 15 to Aug 13. They were invited by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in China and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CAEG). The invitation was  in accordance with the requirements of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Cultural and Tourism Department.

The tour lasted for 30 days and included 11 performances in nine cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Depok, Bogor, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and others. Each performance drew an audience of over 2,000 people. In addition to ethnic programs such as "Drums and Songs", "Zhula", "Knife-playing Mukamu", and "The Most Beautiful Xinjiang", the tour also combined well-known Indonesian folk songs such as "Hey Mama" and "Beautiful Solo River" with Xinjiang Uygur folk music like "Qiansaimu" and Chinese folk songs like "Jasmine Flower", sung in both Chinese and Indonesian languages.

"This performance tour in Indonesia has allowed more Indonesians to experience the real Xinjiang and feel its vibrant energy," said Saitana Kurban, a performer from the Xinjiang Art Theater Mukamu Troupe.

During the tour, the troupe also organized visits to the  Sam Po Kong  (Zheng He Memorial) in Sambas City and the Indonesian Chinese Ethnic Museum in Bandung. "We have felt the long history of Chinese culture, which has inspired all cast and crew members to work even harder and bring glory to our country and add splendor to Xinjiang," said Dilixiati Parhat, the head of the Xinjiang Art Theater Mukamu Troupe.

The tour in Indonesia promotes a correct understanding of Xinjiang's economic and social development and China's ethnic and religious policies in Indonesian society. It is also a significant breakthrough in promoting Chinese traditional culture and spreading China's voice to showcase a trustworthy, lovable, and respectable image of China.
