The 18th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia China Pavilion takes "Renewal Symbiosis" as its theme, in response to the general theme of the 18th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia "Future Laboratory". It focuses on issues of urban and rural sustainable development of global concern, using representative cases and cutting-edge explorations of China's urban and rural renewal in recent years to provide solutions and share the Chinese story of a harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature.

The Venice Biennale is one of the largest and most influential international art events in the world. The International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia is an important part of it.

Zheng Hao, a first-level inspector of the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has held exhibitions at the China Pavilion since 2005. Over the years, through the joint efforts of all parties, the China National Pavilion has continuously improved its exhibition conditions, its operation mode has become increasingly mature, and its international influence has continued to expand. It has become a window for the world to understand the level of Chinese cultural development, artistic creation, and social openness.

Li Jinsheng, secretary of the Party Committee and president of China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CAEG), said that over the past 18 years, the themes of the China Pavilion have been rich and diverse, which not only represents the thinking and response of the curators of each session to the general theme of the Biennale, but also reflects the development of China and its focus on cultural issues. The vivid portrayal of art and architecture provides a unique perspective and window for the world to understand China.

Ruan Xin, the curator and dean of the School of Design of Shanghai Jiaotong University, introduced the curatorial concept and overall plan of the China Pavilion. The exhibition will tell the unique Chinese story from the perspective of cities, nature and people through the changes of China's living environment over the past 40 years. The exhibition consists of indoor and outdoor sections, and the indoor exhibition is divided into three chapters.

In addition, this year's China National Pavilion exhibition will also open an online exhibition hall. Visitors can scan the QR code and enter the cloud exhibition hall to watch the exhibition on their phones.

The 18th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia China Pavilion is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and undertaken by the CAEG. The exhibition will be open to the public from May 20 to November 26, local time in Venice.
