Singing event launched to mark CPC's 100 anniversary in Zunyi
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, a chorus event "Sing Heart-felt Songs for the Party" was held at the Zunyi Grand Theater, Guizhou province on June 3.
One of the performances at the event, an extract from a traditional opera widely popular in southwest China, the Huadeng opera (commonly known as Dengjia drama, or flower drama) "Red Plum Praise", was adapted from the classic stage opera "Jiangjie" by the famous artist Yan Su, and starred the famous Huadeng opera artist, Shao Zhiqing.
The work reproduces heroic images of the revolutionary martyr Jiang Zhuyun and the old woman with two guns, and is based on the Huadeng opera with strong local characteristics in Guizhou.
The event was sponsored by Bauhinia Culture Group and undertaken by China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CAEG). After Zunyi, it will be launched in Jinggangshan, Nanchang, Shenzhen and other places including Hong Kong and Macau.
