Artists from the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe (CDPPAT) staged a large-scale music-and-dance variety show "My Dream" at the Sodre Nelly Goitiño National Auditorium on the evening of November 9, 2019. The show was staged by China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd (CAEG).

This extraordinary performance was presented by 20 ballet dancers with hearing impairments and blind musicians and singers. The music-and-dance variety show combines tradition with modernity, and integrates Chinese civilization with exotic culture, which greatly impressed the Uruguayan audience.

Li Jinsheng, chairman of the CAEG, said that it was the debut of the CDPPAT in Uruguay and the artists were very excited. He also expressed his hope for more cooperation with the Uruguayan art institutions in the future.

Cecilia Bottino, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Uruguay, stressed that both sides have established a "relationship based on mutual respect and trust" and deepened strategic exchanges. She said: "We have conducted in-depth and strategic exchanges on economy, culture, sports and relationships."

In 2007, the CDPPAT was named a “UNESCO Artist for Peace". In 2008, they performed at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games.

Wang Gang, Chinese ambassador to Uruguay, stressed in an interview: "The actors and actresses are dignified persons with rights and values. They love life, desire art and have hope for the future. They are continuously going beyond themselves, and everyone can learn from them because they are our role models. We are happy for the great success they have achieved."

The special part of the performance is the blind singer Liu Tao singing "Todo se transforma", which was originally sung by Uruguayan musician Jorge Drexler. Another highlight is the classic program "Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva" group dance. The grand finale was the chorus "Somos el mundo".

The performance was the grand finale of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of the Ukrainian parliament visiting China. This was the second performance of the CDPPAT in South America after the first in Brazil; its next stop is Argentina.
